For 2026, the challenge returns with a brand-new simplified 5-category format, making it easier than ever to enter, post, and win!

Over the last 6 years, together with my BBQ sponsors, we’ve awarded:
The Canadian BBQ Community Wants & Deserves a Bigger & Better & Easier Challenge!
Grill anything you want, using anything you have!
My challenge will now be split into 5 separate BBQ category challenges; the 5 categories are:

You can enter any 1, multiple or all 5 of the categories, it's up to you!
You must submit only 1 entry per category chosen!
You have during the entire month of May 2026 to grill anything you want for the #BBQChallenge12 to submit your entry or entries, it's that easy!
There will be 3 Winners chosen from each category:
- 1st Place Winner
- 2nd Place Winner
- 3rd Place Winner for a total of 15 Canadian Winners!

For the first time ever, Celebrity Chefs & Special Guests will be invited to watch your video(s) and look at your picture(s) and base their decision on your overall character, plate presentation, and degree of creativity!!
Make any BBQ meal you want, from 1 or up to all of the 5 categories, using anything you have.
Take at least one picture AND at least one video of your BBQ meal and upload them to your Instagram page.

This Challenge is open to Canadian Grillers only.

Canada’s BBQ Challenge isn’t judged on food alone.
Our celebrity judges are looking for backyard grillers who can combine great BBQ and some fun creativity.
When you submit your entry, make sure your post clearly shows the following:
🔥 Plate Presentation
Your finished dish should look appetizing, clean, and well plated. Judges want to see BBQ that makes them wish they could grab a fork immediately.
🔥 Visual Quality (Photo & Video)
Make sure your images and video clearly show your BBQ cook. Good lighting, clear angles, and a clean presentation help judges see the details of your dish.
🔥 Creativity
Show us something unique. Whether it's a new twist on a classic BBQ dish or an unexpected ingredient, creativity always stands out.
🔥 Overall Execution
Judges look at the full cook: technique, doneness, grill marks, balance of ingredients, and how well the dish fits the category.
